Beautiful Victorian sterling silver brooch featuring an ornate pierced floral design with four dimensional rose blossoms surrounding a large oval faceted amethyst-purple paste stone.

The centerpiece is antique-style paste glass, a finely cut glass material widely used in period jewelry to achieve the rich color and brilliance of precious gemstones. Its deep violet coloring beautifully mimics amethyst and provides a dramatic contrast against the silver.

The sterling setting is exceptionally decorative, with raised roses, small flowers, scrolling foliage and intricate openwork throughout. The reverse retains its long pin with C-clasp style fastening, along with an attached safety chain and secondary pin for additional security.
